The Briefcase Books Series is designed to help managers at all strata of the corporate hierarchy, no matter what their training, learn how to become more capable, efficient, and effective. As a part of this series, Managing Teams shows managers both how to lead teams effectively and how to implement teams in a new environment. Holpp covers all aspects of teams for managers. He starts with explanations of teams, how they are organized, and how they should function and moves on to describe ways that managers can act as team leaders and the differences between quality teams and self-directed work teams. Holpp also explains how managers can work to develop important skills in their teams, such as dealing with conflict, coaching, and self-assessment.
