The Memoirs Of Moominpappa

D&Q's deluxe hardcover series of the classic mid-century MOOMIN chapter books continues! Before he had a family, even before he met Moominmamma, Moominpappa led a life of adventure and intrigue. But he's never told his story 'til now. Being under the weather with a bad cold, provides the perfect opportunity to remember his youthful endeavors and to ponder the experiences that have made him the remarkable Moomin that he is. As he reads each chapter aloud to Moomintroll, Snufkin, and Sniff, they-and we-learn of his triumphs and tribulations: his arrival at Hemulin's orphanage, his momentous meetings with the Joxter, the Muddler, and a cast of other characters too incredible (especially Edward the Booble) to list here. The Memoirs of Moominpappa by Tove Jansson was originally released in Swedish in 1950 and has been published in over fifty languages. Often regarded as the most philosophical of the Moomin chapter books, it shares the introspective and imaginative qualities that have made the Moomins beloved for so many decades.
