Messenger, The

In the Los Angeles foothills, wealthy Amanda Clarke is curious about her handsome, single new neighbor. But her interest turns to outrage when Tyler Hawthorne encounters Amanda's terminally ill friend Ron and assures the man he will live. She's sure Tyler is a con man - until Ron begins to recover... The mystery dates back two centuries, when a wounded British officer exchanged his life to become the Messenger, a being who conveys the final thoughts of the dying to their loved ones. But as solitary, nomadic Tyler imagines a mortal life shared with Amanda, a long-buried force of evil returns - and makes it known that abandoning his role as the Messenger will come at a dreadful cost.
