'I Moderni - The Moderns' explores the ways in which emerging contemporary artists - from Haluk Akakçe, Ricci Albenda and Massimo Bartolini to Elisabetta Benassi, Tacita Dean, Tom Friedman and Arturo Herrera - are reflecting today on the themes of modernism and modernity. A volume that is at once classical and experimental, interesting as well as disconcerting and problematic. The volume, which accompanies the new exhibition at the Castello di Rivoli, presents sculptures, installations, projections, paintings, sound projects and projects conceived for the web by more than twenty artists, including; Haluk Akakçe, Ricci Albenda, Massimo Bartolini, Elisabetta Benassi, Tacita Dean, Tom Friedman, Liam Gillick, Arturo Herrera, Brian Jungen, Evan Holloway, Susan Philipsz, Jun Nguyen-Hatsushiba, Jim Lambie, Daria Martin, Julie Mehretu, Jorge Pardo, Paul Pfeiffer, John Pilson, Sarah Sze and Piotr Uklanski.
