From Kandinsky To Pollock

A reconstruction of the artistic milieu surrounding Peggy Guggenheim. The catalog contains more than 100 masterpieces of European and American art ranging from the 1920s to the 1960s, reconstructing relationships on both sides of the Atlantic through the figures of the American collectors Peggy and Solomon Guggenheim. The book describes the birth of the postwar neo-avant-garde movements in a dense and constant dialogue between European and American artists. An exceptional comparison is made between fundamental works by European masters of modern art like Marcel Duchamp, Max Ernst, Man Ray, Alberto Burri, Emilio Vedova, Jean Dubuffet, Lucio Fontana, and those of Jackson Pollock, Rothko, de Kooning, Alexander Calder, Roy Lichtenstein, and Cy Twombly.
