Dam German Architecture Annual 2011-12

The latest edition of this annual volume features the best in German architecture. This volume presents 23 projects that demonstrate extraordinary ingenuity in architecture, beginning with the DAM-Prize winning project--the reconstruction of the East Wing of the Museum of Natural History in Berlin by Diener & Diener Architects. Other projects include schools, religious buildings, showrooms, libraries, stadia, office and apartment buildings, and vacation homes. An austerely beautiful mountain retreat designed by AFF Architects and an artfully designed hydroelectric power station by becker architekten as well as an impressive mixed-use building in Tiflis, Georgia, by Wandel Hoefer Lorch and Hirsch represent the enormous diversity of this year's contributors. Each project is presented with architectural analysis and supporting illustrations and plans. This important overview also features topical essays on current developments in German architecture.
