Commission, The

The official title was the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States, but everybody knew it simply as the 9/11 Commission. By threatening to issue subpoenas to the White House, the commission forced the Bush Administration to open up the government's most secret files on terrorist threats. President George Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice, and CIA Director George Tenet were all compelled to submit to hours of the commission's questions. But did the commission tell the public everything that it learned about the events of Sept. 11, 2001? Now, top journalist Philip Shenon brings into focus the intrigues and scandals of the 9/11 Commission. 'The Commission' addresses the conspiracy theories that continue to swirl around the worst terrorist attack on American soil, and around the commission that was charged with explaining how Sept. 11 could have happened.
